Tuition Fees

The Finance Department assists students with the financing of their tuition fees from the beginning of their studies. Tuition fees are different for each program, and students are informed of the final cost once a contract is signed.

Students receive a detailed invoice in the first week of studies. Payment is required by the deadlines indicated in the invoice. If the deadlines are not met, the school has the right to deny the student access to the class.

»¨ÃÛÖ±²¥app Technical Institute of Montreal is recognized by Quebec’s Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie (MESRST) as an institution eligible for the Loans and Bursaries Program offered by the Government of Quebec. Students who are Quebec residents and cannot afford to take one of our courses may qualify for financial assistance.

To be eligible for the Loans and Bursaries Program, you must meet the following conditions:

  • You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or have refugee or protected person status as defined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • You were, or were deemed to be, a Quebec resident at the time of application
  • You have been or will be admitted to an educational institution recognized by the Minister
  • You are, or are deemed to be, a full-time student in a recognized program
  • You have not exceeded the number of months for which financial assistance may be awarded
  • You have not reached the debt limit established for your level of education, type of degree, or program
  • You do not have the financial resources to pursue your studies

You are not eligible for the Loans and Bursaries Program if you are serving a prison sentence. If you and your spouse are both students, only one of you can be deemed to be a full-time student in a given award year.

How to apply online for the Loans and Bursaries program?

If you already have a permanent code:
  • Visit the .
  • Click "ONLINE ACCESS TO YOUR FILE" in the left menu.
  • Select "STUDENT".
  • Choose a password and a security question.
  • Sign in with your permanent code and password.
  • Complete the online form under the "FULL-TIME FORM" tab.
  • Attach all required documents online in the "SUBMIT A DOCUMENT" section.
If you do not have a permanent code:

You must complete the Loans and Bursaries application form and mail it to the address listed on the AFE website.

Please note that some documents may require a sworn statement. »¨ÃÛÖ±²¥app Technical Institute of Montreal provides a commissioner for oaths service for all documents specifically required for AFE. Processing time is 6 to 8 weeks from the date the application is submitted. You can track your application on the website: . Once processed, a guarantee certificate is issued by AFE. Upon receipt, it is your responsibility to have the certificate approved by a financial institution and to sign the loan agreement.

The Finance Department will contact you to collect the guarantee certificate. Once contacted, you are responsible for having the certificate approved by a financial institution and signing the loan agreement.

Between May and August MESRS will verify your income with Revenu Québec. If you receive a notice of income discrepancy, you must respond as soon as possible.
